Massanutten Resort Has Three New Trail Names
After some great participation from fans and friends in the Trail Name Contest, Massanutten has three new trail names! The "Rebel Yell" is being renamed as "Showtime," thanks to Chris. "MakAttack" will replace the "Dixie Dare." We also have a entirely new trail: "Nutten To It" which was named by Cindy. Thanks for some great suggestions and all the participation in the contest!
New Quad Lift
For the 2009-2010 snow sports season, Massanutten Resort has installed a new Doppelmayr CTEC quad chair lift! This new lift features a loading conveyor belt- the first installed in Virginia. This is the third quad chair installed at Massanutten and replaces an original Borvig double chair installed in 1972. The new lift has been relocated to the skier's left of the original lift and the load area moved closer to the ski lodge to provide better access. Plus, a new trail design will provide access to both Geronimo and Southern Comfort.

James E. Lambert Park Opens
A newly added amenity to Massanutten Resort's wide array of recreational offerings is the new James E. Lambert Park in the Woodstone Meadows Timeshare Project. The park features a paved, half mile lit walking path, children's playground, picnic shelter with gas grills, tri-tennis courts, restrooms, open play areas, and parking for over 70 vehicles. The park was designed with a "Green Approach," utilizing LED lighting technology and the use of recycled site amenities. The path will allow safe passage from many of the Woodstone units to the Recreation Center, The Spa, The Market, and activities building. Non-motorized scooters, bicycles, and skateboards are also allowed on the pathways. The park is open daily and is free.
The Spa at Massanutten
You are cordially invited to visit the new Spa at Massanutten! Our expanded space features a wide range of amenities, products and services. You will be greeted by our warm, cordial staff as you enter a peaceful place where you can rest, relax and rejuvenate. The new Spa is centrally located adjacent to the Woodstone Meadows check-in building in the former Woodstone Golf Pro Shop.
Free Wireless Internet Access
Massanutten Resort will now offer free wireless internet access in all units, hotels and common areas! Our hospitality team has been hard at work to ensure your requests are met. Cyber Center Express locations will still be available at The General Store and The WaterPark for $.35 per minute.
Dead Solid!
The Dead Solid® Golf Simulator is now available for use at the Woodstone Meadows Pro Shop. This state-of-the-art, indoor golf simulator features realistic golf through championship course play, driving range usage, video swing analysis and custom club fitting. Courses available include Pebble Beach Golf Links, Rancho La Quinta, Cog Hill and many more. Please click here for more information.
New Pro Shop at Woodstone Meadows G.C.
The Woodstone Meadows Golf Shop has completed its relocation to the site of the Golf Driving Range, off Silverstone Lane. For the first time our resort guests will be able to hit golf balls onsite before they play their round of golf. The new golf shop will house our recently purchased Dead Solid Golf simulator. On rainy days, golfers can beat the weather by playing golf indoors. The new golf layout will feature the reversal of the nines at Woodstone with the current #10 hole becoming #1. We are excited about all the new changes and we look forward to seeing you this fall.
Massanutten's Commitment to the Environment
Massanutten Resort has partnered with Renewable Choice Energy to support the generation of Clean energy. The commitment of offsetting the electricity use of our two Quad ski lifts equaling 223,708 kWh per year is similar to:
- Planting 1255 mature trees
- Not driving 332,876 miles
Industry facts:
- Conventional, fossil-fuel electricity production is the leading cause of industrial air pollution in the U.S. and leads to other social problems including water pollution and lung disease.
- The American Wind Energy Association and the DOE believe that having 20% of our energy come from wind power is an achievable mix.
