Are there any snow tubing discounts for Massanutten property owners?
On Thursdays (beginning in January) property owners can tube for half-price. Just show your Massanutten property owner's card at the tube park (on Thursdays) and receive a tubing ticket for $9 per person
Also, beginning in January, the tube park offers half-price tubing on Tuesdays to anyone. Wednesdays are our student days at the tube park. Anyone showing a school ID or report card can tube for half-price.
Also, property owners and guests staying on the resort can purchase their tubing tickets one day in advance after 2 p.m., in person at the tube park. Each property owner can purchase up to 8 tubing tickets.
All tubing tickets must be purchased in person at the Tube Park Sales Office.
Do I need to be a certain age or height to snow tube?
Yes. In order to participate in snow tubing, you must be at least 36 inches tall. Massanutten asks that any child under 12 years old be accompanied by an adult at all times.
For the safety of all of our guests and staff, Massanutten does not permit riders to carry other persons on their lap. Under appropriate surface conditions, we will allow tubes to ‘link" together at our discretion - so a parent can hold onto their child's tube or friends can experience the ride together. (Note: the parent should be in the lead tube and the child behind for appropriate safety measures.)
Younger and/or more timid tubers may prefer our mid-day sessions when track conditions are generally more moderate.
How should I dress for snow tubing?
- You will find a variation in temperature on the mountain itself. So consider layering your clothes so that you can adjust to changes in temperature and precipitation. You should dress for "snow" with waterproof clothing. Warm clothing including long underwear, gloves or mittens, hat or headband, jacket and ski/snow pants should be worn.
- It is highly recommended that you stay away from wearing cotton clothing (jeans, sweatshirts, sweatpants, etc.) next to your skin, because it will absorb sweat and snow and make you cold.
- Remember that the sun exposure could be a problem so be sure to use sunscreen and eye protection.
- Tubing participants are asked to wear hiking boots or waterproof shoes. For safety reasons, ski boots and hard shell boot are prohibited.
- If you forgot any clothing items, stop by our retail shops at either the Tube Park or the Massanutten General Store.
Is it possible for snow tubing sessions to sell out?
Yes. Due to the popularity of this family activity, it is possible that any tubing session will sell out, especially on weekends and holidays. In order to provide the most exciting and safe experience for our tubing guests, it is necessary for us to limit the amount of people in the tubing area. However, we sell tubing tickets to property owners and guests staying on the mountain one day in advance after 2 p.m., in person at the Tube Park. Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays can be sold out by 8 p.m. the night before.
Can I bring my own sled or tube?
We do not allow personal tubes to be used on the tube hill. A tube rental is included in the cost of a tubing session.
Can I reserve tubing tickets for my family over the phone?
All tubing tickets must be purchased in person at the Tube Park Sales Office.
Does my season pass work for tubing?
No. Snow tubing is a separate activity and requires separate admission tickets.
