Aquatics Training & Certifications
Massanutten Resort not only provides training in Lifeguarding, CPR, First Aid and Water Safety Instruction but also provides employment opportunities both seasonally and year round. Massanutten Resort employs over 150 aquatic staff as lifeguards or water attendants throughout the year and over 250 seasonally. We offer competitive pay and many other benefits to our employees. All courses are taught by certified American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructors and in accordance with all American Red Cross policies. Courses offered include:

Institute of Inspection and Restoration Certifications
The IICRC, or the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification, is the non-profit certifying body for the cleaning and restoration industry. We provide the open door to a career in the textile industry while working local. This is a large, always growing industry. We can help you earn certifications in many different textile fields while working in both commercial and residential settings. You can also work your way up, through classes and training, to master designation in several textile fields.
Massanutten has a pathway for you to earn the following professional certifications from the IICRC:
- Carpet
- Upholstery
- Flood Restoration
- Carpet Repair and Re-installation

What is the cost?
Expenses vary. Massanutten covers all costs for training, classes, and the first certification test. If a retest is required the employee is responsible for a $85 fee.
How long does it take?
Varies. Generally, six months.

Training begins on day one.

Master or Journeyman from Commonwealth of Virginia
Join our team and start training today to earn your Master or Journeyman from the Commonwealth of Virginia. Build your career and demonstrate mastery of your trade by earning a license in this high-demand field. Our resort offers you the chance to train and learn in a fast-paced environment with a wide variety of service calls and installations.

Massanutten covers 100% of costs for this training pathway. Expenses to earn these licenses are generally around $6000.
How long does it take?
This varies from person to person. Usually 4 to 5 years.
When can I begin training?
With the right combination of prior experience and drive to succeed, you could begin training as early as your first day with our company.

State of Virginia Nail Technician License
Great Eastern Resorts will pay up to 50% of the tuition fees toward the educational requirements of the Nail Technician Licensing up to completion and for as long as the employee is in good standing. This is a great program for those seeking to advance in a trade.

What is the cost?
Expenses vary. Usually around $2000. Massanutten will reimburse up to 50% of costs paid by employee.
How long does it take?
To earn this license you must complete 150 educational hours at an accredited school.
When can I begin training?
To qualify for this pathway you must be employed by The Spa at Massanutten for at least 6 months.
