Community Clean-up
For years, Massanutten has encouraged all employees to participate in two programs that help to improve the appearance of our property, public roadways, and roadside gardens while reducing the cost of litter removal for the county.
Adopt-a-Highway Program
We care about our county and the way it looks, which is why Massanutten started participating in the national Adopt-a-highway program in July of 2016, ‘adopting’:
- Route 644 (Resort Drive) from Route 602 (East Point Rd) to Route 646 (Bloomer Springs Road) for a total of 3.6 miles.
- Additional Route: Route 646 (Bloomer Springs Road) from Route 644 (Resort Drive) to Route 33 for 1.70 miles for a total adoption of 5.3 miles.
Twice a year, we have an average of 28 employees volunteer to keep these sections of highway free from litter, removing an average of 16 bags of trash per cleaning.
Resort-Wide Cleanup Days
Another core value of ours is Taking Care of our Property, which is why we regularly host Resort-Wide Cleanup Days. Through this initiative, our employee volunteers come together as one to make our resort clean and beautiful for all to enjoy, removing as many as 25 bags of trash in a single day!
