Massanutten Resort is proud to present to you Summer Jam 2024! The event will feature live music, kids' activities, beer & wine, food trucks, and fireworks around 10 pm! All proceeds benefit the Rockingham Harrisonburg SPCA.

Food Vendors: Your Pie Pizza, K's Grill, Base Camp, Big Fat Daddy’s, Bayou Kitchen, Kettle Corn, and Nothing Bundt Cakes.

Kids Activities: Featuring flower crown making by Harmony Harvest Farm, tie dye, axe throwing, yard games including Big Jenga, Big Connect 4, and cornhole!

Beer & Wine Garden: Beer line up featuring Miller Lite, Coors Light, Blue Moon, Leinenkugel Summer Shandy, Peroni, Coors Banquet, Sam Adams Boston Lager, Sam Adams Summer Ale, Twisted Tea, Truly Wild Berry, Angry Orchard, and Dogfish Head Blood Orange & Mango Vodka Crush. Wine line up featuring CrossKeys Vineyards. Beer and wine tickets will be $6 each.

Don’t miss the flying of our nation’s colors and the National Anthem around 8:25 pm!

Please remember your SPF’s and sun hats. Also small shade umbrellas are permitted in designated areas that do not block others views. 

The Rockingham Harrisonburg SPCA is the Shenandoah Valley’s largest open-admission animal shelter serving residents of the City of Harrisonburg and County of Rockingham for over 50 years. Our mission is to create a community free of pet homelessness and animal suffering through adoption and advocacy.  We bring our mission to life through shelter and adoption of animals, reducing pet overpopulation, and providing resources to improve the lives of animals and their people.

There have been multiple reports of people trying to pose as hosts or vendor hosts of festivals held at Massanutten Resort claiming there are additional spaces available. They are then requesting payment for those spaces through PayPal. Massanutten Resort and partners do not request payment for vendor spots in this fashion. Please do not fall for this scam. NO COOLERS, PETS, OR WEAPONS of any kind are permitted.All bags, chairs, strollers will be checked. Attention Smokers: Please refrain from smoking when you are around event attendees. If you choose to smoke, step off to the side and away from guests. Please do not litter your cigarettes. All event attendees will be required to follow current COVID-19 federal and state guidelines, along with guidelines set forth by Massanutten Resort. Sandy B & The Allstars | 8:30 - 10 pm
Sandy B & The Allstars cover a wide array of tunes from Top 40 Hits, Motown, Rock n Roll, Pop, Funk, Soul, R&B, and much much more. With front man Sandy Biles taking control of the wheel, you are sure to be driven down a path of good times and great music no matter what the occasion may be. Backed by a band of strong musicians and entertainers in their own right, this group makes their living at making audiences have a GREAT TIME.

The Parker Barrow Project | 6:30 - 8 pm
Parker Barrow, the blues-infused Southern rock band led by Megan Kane (vocals) and Dylan Turner (drums), supported by the formidable Alex Bender (guitar) and Michael Beckhart (bassist), is a powerhouse group, boasting a distinctive musical style. Forged from an immediate connection, the band finds inspiration in the infamous duo of Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow. Kane and Turner aim to infuse their music with the iconic energy of a dynamic duo, portraying a narrative where, instead of evading the law, they are a dynamic pair in pursuit of their rock ‘n’ roll dreams.

Yarn Duo with Blake Christiana & Joey Recchio | 5 - 6 pm
This duo delivers a down-home sound that was born and bred in Brooklyn, NY. Blake Christiana is the front-man and songwriter for Yarn, the four time Grammy nominated alt-country rock band now based in Raleigh, North Carolina. Blake leads on vocals and guitar. Joey Recchio will play electric guitar. Of the Yarn Duo past shows Blake Christiana says “I just love these gigs, it's musical freedom, we start playing, and let it all just happen.”

Festival Tips

Festival Tips

• Limited parking is available for free in the ski area parking lots, however these lots will fill up fast. Please plan to park elsewhere and/or walk to the event, carpool, or a ride/cab service. Parking along roadways and illegal parking will not be tolerated.
• ADA parking will be available as first-come, first-serve in the Learning Center parking lot.
• You may experience long vendor lines and wait times. Please be patient and plan accordingly.
• Please bring your own chairs, blankets, or camp chairs. Festival chairs, blankets, and camp chairs with built-in shade awnings that do not obstruct the view of other festival-goers are allowed. No pop-up tents or umbrellas permitted.
• Please do not bring in food, drinks, drugs, pets, or weapons of any kind.
• You may bring in one unopened, sealed bottle of water.
• Food/beverages are not included in ticket price. Some kids' activities may have a small fee.
• Beer & wine ticket sales end at 9:30 pm. Beer & wine last pour is at 9:45 pm.
• Fireworks will last 10 or so minutes. The best view of the fireworks finale at 10 pm will be near the ski lodge and Lift 4 when inside the festival grounds.
• This is a rain or shine fundraising event. Tickets are not refundable.
• In case of rain, the Ski Lodge can be used for shelter. No alcohol permitted in Lodge.
• Our area weather forecast is not always 100% accurate due to mountains and valleyes. Feel free to reach out or check your favorite weather sites by using zip code 22840.
• Trash and recycling bins will be available throughout the event grounds. Please help keep Massanutten a Green Community!

Massanutten Resort to Host 25th Annual Summer Jam

Guests will enjoy three bands, fireworks display, regional food trucks, & kids’ activities during July 3rd festival.

Massanutten, Va. – July 1, 2024: Massanutten Resort is excited to announce the return of its annual Summer Jam Festival taking place on Wednesday, July 3, from 5-10 PM. The festival will feature live music, kids' activities, beer & wine, food trucks, and fireworks to cap off the evening. All proceeds will benefit the Rockingham Harrisonburg SPCA, a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming animals.

"This event is a long-standing collaboration between our community, the RH-SPCA, and Massanutten. Revenues from this event go directly towards critical programming and services provided by the Rockingham Harrisonburg SPCA. To be able to produce one of the premier summer concerts in our Commonwealth while also giving back to an important, local organization is an honor for me." said Sarah Elson, Director of Resort Marketing at Massanutten Resort. The event will feature activities for the families such as tie dying, axe throwing, flower crown making, as well as yard games like Giant Jenga, Connect Four, and more. Guests will enjoy delectable food from area food vendors like Your Pie Pizza, K's Grill, Massanutten Base Camp, Big Fat Daddy’s, Bayou Kitchen, Kettle Corn, and Nothing Bundt Cakes.  The beer line up will feature Miller Lite, Coors Light, Blue Moon, Leinenkugel Summer Shandy, Peroni, Coors Banquet, Sam Adams Boston Lager, Sam Adams Summer Ale, Twisted Tea, Truly Wild Berry, Angry Orchard, and Dogfish Head Blood Orange & Mango Vodka Crush. The wine selection will include favorites from Cross Keys Vineyards.

The 2024 Summer Jam band line-up is impressive and will give the audience a taste of almost all genres of music. Summer Jam will kick off with a duo featuring Blake Christiana of Yarn & Joey Recchio from Big Daddy Love from 5 - 6 pm. The Parker Barrow Project, a blues-infused Southern rock band, will follow with their 10-piece band from 6:30 - 8 pm. To conclude, Sandy B & The Allstars will perform an array of tunes, covering everything from Top 40 Hits, Motown, Rock n Roll, Pop, Funk, Soul, and R&B from 8:30 - 10 pm. The fireworks show will round out the evening.

Massanutten Resort is offering an exclusive lodging package for Summer Jam, featuring a 10% discount on all lodging options and the option to add Summer Jam tickets. This package is available for stays from July 1 through July 6, 2024, and allows guests to purchase up to six Summer Jam tickets. A minimum stay of two nights is required.

From now until July 2, guests can take advantage of the advance ticket price of only $15. Admission for children aged six or younger is complimentary. Unless the event sells out in advance, tickets will be available at the gate for $25.
